I couldn't help but pay attention to the fact that the situation of passing through an acrylic board overlaps with communication during the corona crisis.
I think there are pros and cons about whether or not to consider the current social situation of the corona disaster when evaluating a work, but this work, which has the theme of "disconnection", has various things beyond the corona disaster. In this world surrounded by "disruptions", as the title suggests, a human being who wishes to reach "the garden of a stranger = a world without discontinuities" is drawn.
I believe that this work, which can serve as a mirror that reflects society at that time, has a universality that is suitable for the grand prize.

Set in Japan in the near future, it was a work that approached what death is through the system.
The closer chemistry draws to the realm of life, the more the impossible becomes possible, and the more it becomes necessary to deal with inconveniences that did not need to be dealt with.
About 80 years have passed since Sartre called it the punishment of liberty, but we are troubled by it and have not yet found a solution. This work, which realistically, seriously, and comically depicts that, gave us a kind of hope for those of us who believe in the power of fiction.
In addition, it has both rhythm and tempo suitable for the title of a short story, and I think it is a masterpiece that was chosen for its sake.

What is the show case of the O plan?
・Different from a full-fledged production, it creates an imaginary world of "nothingness" and "not yet".

Why "Garden of the Gentile"?
"Garden of the Stranger" was published in the playwrights association's digital archive,
At the place where Ogino holds sessions with actors every week under the name of "Theatrical Workshop"
He came across it while looking for a play to use.
It is extremely simple and full of "feelings" that make it look clumsy and endearing.
The compromise between people trying to understand people is depicted.
And there is the real pleasure of facing the life, which can be said to be the royal road of theater.
Among the many drama sessions at the "Theater Studio", this "Garden of the Stranger" was the work that attracted the most interest of the participants.
In spite of the session with the script in hand, the audience watching by the side often cries.
After that, in April of this year, we jointly planned a performance experiment with "first day of training vol.2",
Kayako Tsuzuki, who plays the role, and Koba Higuchi, who played the role of killing seven people, were introduced to each other, and I felt it was fate.
We will deliver it as a work that can be said to be definitely interesting for us and definitely suitable for O planning.
The play was not performed in Tokyo at the time. It's really a masterpiece.
If you see it, you will surely want to do it with various actors.
In the O project, we want to provide that opportunity.
At the same time, as long as we have two performers, we can show it anywhere in the future.
I would like to cherish this work for a long time.

December 2021 at Shimokitazawa OFF/OFF Theater (Tokyo)

Once a week, we held a workshop called a drama workshop to match existing plays and actors, and carefully searched for performances.
Therefore, we have adopted a creative style in which we move to the stage after obtaining a careful agreement with the actors.
In August and September 2022, the 1st show case “Garden of the Stranger” by Karima Chaos and O Project will be performed at the Small Theater Rakuen (Tokyo).
In addition, we also support production with other organizations in order to support the performance form of actor transmission.
In April 2022, jointly planned “first day of practice vol.2” with Sakai Suisan at Izumo Gallery (Tokyo).
Hosted Sakai Fisheries Festival vol.1 “Strong” and “Yama no Koe” at RAFT (Tokyo) in October 2022.
In "Strong", the actor's maiden work is performed with three patterns of casts without props.
In December 2022, at Studio Akutore (Tokyo), Deep Sea Light x O project "For the father who did not die in the war" will be performed.
